Almost everyday, I see one or two jets flying over San Francisco. Does anyone know who operates them and why?

Are they from Moffett Field? If so, why do they fly so often? Are they for training purposes? Please provide accurate answers and sources/references if possible. Please do not give umptions or speculate. Thank you.
