Why do atheists oppose anyone believing the teachings of the Bible?

Atheists do not oppose the teachings of the Bible however they do try to expose the truth behind it and therefore they are scorned by religious believers. Atheists want people to know the truth because a lot of people believe in religion simply because that is all they know or have been taught. People grow up in a society and with their family where they are taught to believe certain things even though some of the things they learn are detrimental to society. Take for example the conflicts of religion which result simply because Judiasm, Islam and Christianity have differences in theology. Atheism wants people to be able to decide their own lives and to reveal the truth.
