Why is creationism considered by Theists to be more intelligent, more of a divine interaction than evolution?

They misunderstand it. Evolution says nothing about God, in fact it allows for the possibility of a creator, and big bang theory was formulated by a Christian cleric. You can accept big bang theory and evolution without it threatening your belief in God.
